Starting today, low- and modest-income Canadians and families will begin receiving their new, one-time Grocery Rebate. This targeted inflation relief will provide up to an extra $467 for families of four; up to an average of $225 for seniors; and up to $234 for single Canadians by direct deposit or cheque through the Canada Revenue Agency.
While our plan has helped bring inflation down to its lowest level in more than two years, higher grocery prices are still a challenge for far too many Canadians. With the Grocery Rebate, our government is continuing to provide support to the Canadians who need it most.
Pierre Poilievre and Conservative politicians have continually voted against supporting families – from the Grocery Rebate, to dental care for kids, and the Canada Child Benefit. He would cut services and programs that people rely on and has no plan to make life more affordable for Canadians. While they continue to play political games, we’ll stay focused on delivering real results – for everyone.
