Wait times for passengers going through our busiest airports continues to decrease
August 12, 2022
Our government continues to take the delays Canadians are facing at airports seriously.
With the return of travel and sector recovery this spring, countries around the world saw congestion at airports.
The increase of passenger volume and labour shortage brought about during the pandemic are the primary contributors to these delays and we are continuing to work closely with airlines, airports, CATSA, CBSA, and other partners to ensure travel is streamlined – everyone has a role to play.
To date, more than 1600 CATSA screening officers have been hired across the country and average wait times for passengers going through our busiest airports continues to decrease.
