June 3rd marks the
Dragon Boat Festival, also known as
Duanwu Festival or
Double Fifth Festival.
This is a traditional Chinese holiday that commemorates the life and death of the famous Chinese scholar Qu Yuan (Chu Yuan). The festival occurs on the fifth day of the fifth month on the Chinese lunisolar calendar.
In Canada, the community usually celebrates the festival through dragon boat races and eating
Zongzi, a form of rice dumplings covered by bamboo leaves. This is an opportunity to reach out to your local Chinese community and celebrate the rich history of Chinese Canadians who continue to enrich and make our country the diverse and inclusive society it is today.

我谨代表我全家和我的团队,祝愿大家端午节安康!
